March 4, 2003My turn signals quit working and got to checking and the brakelights are not working either. The hi mount is working so I'm a little confused? any one had this problem? Fuses are good. Thanks, Matt
March 4, 2003check the fuses under the hood??
stang electricals systems have there problems!
March 4, 2003Sounds like an open circuit somewhere between the high-mount and the tail lights. Just guessing though. It stands to reason the current is getting to the high mount, so you can assume it's getting THAT far. The problem may be in the harness between there and the tail lights.
March 4, 2003Under hood fuses are good also. I think the high mount is on a seperate circiut for safty. I'm checking for a wiring prob. now. I didn't know if there was a body control module or something similar that might be at fault. I hope to get it fixed quick, I just bought her a bunch of toys!
March 4, 2003Hmm, if they're on separate circuits, then forget what I was guessing! LOL Hey, what do I know? Ha!
March 4, 2003Hey leaky, isn't there a ford tech or lightning dr back at our other home(ftw) or do you know? Electrical is out of my league without the service manual. Thanks
March 4, 2003You are thinking about Earl (Lightning DR). Call him as he isn't really into computers. 818 838-7154
Edit: Maybe not.. try him via email as you are in KY. He's on this site as well.
March 4, 2003Thanks svtgal, I found the problem. It was the multi function switch or stalk. When I tilted the column it started working so pulled the cover and pushed the plug tighter and so far ok. Thanks again everybody, its good to have this resource.
March 4, 2003Wow, it's always something weird! Glad you got it fixed and without having to spend a ton of $$$ on it!
March 4, 2003i love electrical problems.....the smallest issue can cause the biggest headaches. glad ya got it fixed!
March 4, 2003I'm glad you got it solved.
March 5, 2003Glad to hear you got that sorted out right away. Brake lights come in handy once in awhile.
