March 15, 2004I won't be able to save any more money - I have to buy an engagement ring and pay for a trip to Disney in October - all while paying bills, college tuition, and miscellaneous expenses. Fiberglass is what's on my car now as it is anyways, so I don't see it as a downgrade.

March 15, 2004Maybe with all of your bills you should just keep what you have.
Like I said a fiberglass will crack, it is not if it will crack it is when. Then you will heve a messed up looking body kit on your car and no bucks to fix it. Are you going to install and paint it your self? If not talk to the body shop doing the work for you it may be cheaper in the long run to go with the better kit. just a thought.
March 15, 2004I'm involved in a vigorous process (as I have been for 4 weeks now) on my hunt for the actual body kit I will purchase, the company I will purchase it from (along with their warranty), paint places and their prices, body places and their prices, comments from individuals who have experience with body kits, and any other misc. things I may have mentioned. I won't buy the kit until I have exhausted every option and weighted eveyrthing on the best quality vs. price. And I'm not worried about the fiberglass cracking because, as I said, my current pieces are fiberglass and hold up fine. I agree they crack easy, but I'm 101% clean on my driving record - so hopefully that will play in my favor.
March 16, 2004Wish u luck on whatever u decide, hope it works out for u.
And gl on the engagement
March 19, 2004There are other body kits out there that are cheap and made out of the same materials that the ford parts. Razzi makes a nice kit. Go to www.razzi.com or theres other websites that carry them like www.crossroadzdirect.com. Razzi has 2 types of kits to choose from..
Just don't get one of those aluminum wings.
Good site for custom Emblems:
March 19, 2004MAybe wait until you really need the downforce on your tires. I would go for HP first, everything else is secondary.
March 19, 2004I would agree, try to stay clear of fiberglass kits - they are not the best and they do crack and crazed.
I have seen more wings, spoilers and side skirts that were made of fiberglass look just horrible shortly after they were installed. One good whack and that is all it takes
Good luck with your decisions as well as your engagement and future marriage.
You might consider just holding off - I kind of get the feeling your wanting to these things prior to the engagment and/or marriage because your future wife might not agree with them Us married men understand
March 19, 2004it is a basic fact. and you are going to hear it over and over and over again. You get what you pay for!
I know it was said, but believe me, it is the truth!
March 19, 2004Opinions come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors. Best to take it for what its worth and move along. No one thinks the worse towards either of you for the "ricey" comments....since you asked for honest opinions. I thought that it was a very honest answer from a very dedicated Mustang lover.
(edit.....hmm.... that was 4 days ago.....i should seriously check dates before posting) :p
