August 9, 2006the molding for my body kit is coming off at the top part, wondering if anyone knew of glue or some type of adhesive i could use to make it stick... thanks
August 9, 2006The absolute BEST way is to remove the entire part, clean off all the double stick tape, put on new tape and place the part back on the car.
Not knowing which part you mean or where exactly it's coming apart from makes it hard to give you an alternative solution.
If it's at the END or CORNER of the part, you might be able to pry the part farther away from the body just enough to remove a small area of the old double stick tape and insert a small replacement section of NEW tape to hold that end/corner down.
Typically, urethane parts are softer and easier to work with (flexibility) when warm or hot. Might let the car sit in the sun or use a hair dryer to help work with the area concerned.
Got a pic?
August 11, 2006ill take one once i get a chance, thanks for the info so far tho.
August 11, 2006He's talking about the tape that runs all the way around the car on the GT bodykit. It's in a ~1" channel near the top of all the body kit pieces, and on the front and rear bumpers. It's usually a red vinyl stripe, regardless of the paint color.
May 7, 2012I need to get rid of the rocker moldings. Can I just drill out the rivets on the clips and weld up the holes or fill them with filler?
