April 23, 2007I have a 95 Mustang GT and im thinking about re upholstering my seats. Does any one know the difficulty of doing this to these seats or how. Im thinking about just putting the vinyl on in place of the leather, because thats what i had on my 72 mustang and it still looked nice

June 18, 2007Cushion Cover and Pad, Front Seat (About a 2 hour job for both seats)
Remove the seat assembly. Place the seat on a clean surface.
Remove the front seat track from the front seat cushion frame and spring.
Remove the front seat back latch lower cover.
Disconnect the front seat adjusting motor drive tube at the joint located on the inboard side near the seat back hinge, if so equipped.
Remove the screws retaining the front seat back frame to the front seat cushion frame and spring.
On GT and Cobra models, remove adjuster handle (this is difficult) You gotta get your hand all the way up under the back of the seat to release a tab to release #2 shown in the picture below.
Remove the seat control switch as outlined.
Disconnect electrical connectors and front seat back pad adjusting tube from seat control switch.
Disengage the J-retainers from the front seat cushion frame and spring.
Remove the front seat cushion cover and pad assembly.
Position the front seat cushion pad and cover to the front seat cushion frame and spring.
Secure the front seat cushion cover and pad to the front seat cushion frame and spring by locking plastic J-retainers.
Install the front seat back latch handle knob.
Install the seat control switch.
Install the seat back to the front seat cushion frame and spring.
Tighten the inboard pivot screw to 19-27 Nm (15-19 lb-ft) for all but Cobra, and 22-27 Nm (16-19 lb-ft) for Cobra.
Tighten the two outboard retaining screws to 47-63 Nm (35-46 lb-ft).
Connect the front seat adjusting motor drive tube.
Install the seat back latch/lower cover.
Install the front seat track to the front seat cushion frame and spring as outlined.
Install the seat assembly as outlined.
Check the front seat tracks and front safety belt for proper operation.
