May 24, 2007I got that setup and I like how my car handles
May 29, 2007got the springs in , but i couldn't get the top insulator in on the front springs. any advice on how to compress the springs so i can put this in. the spring compressor we had wouldn't come out the the pirch after the spring is installed and the outside compressor didn't seem to work either, too long . HELP !!!!!!!!!!1
May 29, 2007A way I've done it before is to unbolt the control arm completely. Place the spring and all rubber pieces together on the control arm and then stick the control arm on a jack. Then jack the control arm up flat untill the spring is compressed in the spring perch. When the control arm is high enough, slide the bolts through. *WARNING* This is a suggestion, I've sofar had luck with it but it can be dangerous. If the jack lifts everything straight up then it shouldn't be a problem, but if something starts bowing or the spring starts arching stop and lower the jack.
May 30, 2007we thought about that way, but i didn't want to hurt anyone if the spring decided to come out.
May 31, 2007Yeah it can be dangerous. Whenever my shops done it we use very big floor jacks to lift the control arms so their stable. Also it helps a lot if you could get the spring compressor on the outside of the spring and tighten it as far as it will go, then use the jack to go the rest of the way.
