The Photoshopped pic says it all. Should I fill in the factory notch (with fiberglass) and have a truly "one of a kind" spoiler or leave it alone?Forums : Body : Should I modify my rear spoiler? (1311 Views)

Well, why am I NOT surprised at the support for this mod? Walt expressed my sentiment exactly. I too was never fond of the notch molded into the lip but I love the overall shape. So, I guess I'll be doing this AFTER the hood is ready for paint. This way, I can shoot both parts on the same day.The only question I have now is should I make the added portion a continuation of the curves that come from both ends, making one continuous arc or should I just "bridge" the two inside corners and go straight across? The advantage to going straight across is that when the decal stripe is applied, I won't have to wrestle with a compound curve and can wrap it much easier.
Thanks for the input all.

I like it filled in, but only if it's a quality job.July 5, 2007
Looks pretty darn good filled but aesthetically I would say a straight run in the middle of a nice curve will look strange. If you have the ability I would say maintain the arc even though it makes striping the spoiler a royal pain in the rear!![]() |
