June 30, 2007Ok this this has probably been on everyones mind. I am looking for a quieter muffler. I just put a set of Mac Pro-dumps to my already existing BBK Longtubes and straight h-pipe. They are LOUD!! I used to have dynomax super turbos. Now I'm not looking for something as quiet as the dynomax but something I still don't hear 2 days after driving the car. I've been considering Magnaflow or has anyone used the Warlocks?
June 30, 2007I am currently running Dynomax Race Magnums. They're loud but not much more than Magnaflows and a LOT less than the SLP Loudmouths I had on for awhile.
July 6, 2007Dynomax super turbos have been the 'quietest' aftermarket muffler for a long time, unless some other company started trying to make quiet mufflers.
There was a huge writeup on this in one of the Mustang magazines (probably MM&FF) where they measured about 10 different mufflers all on the same Fox body 5.0 Mustang, using a sound level meter to figure out which setups were loudest at which RPMs, etc. The Dynomax super turbos were the only thing even close to stock noise level.
July 6, 2007Yeah I found that list and am going with the Hooker MaxFlos. The Mac exhaust I just put on the car was only beaten on the sound test by straight headers............... So I might have a brand new set of Mac Pro-Dumps for sale for a fox.
July 6, 2007check out cherry bombs new line of mufflers. The Vortex series Is a reallly nice sounding muffler. No annoying drone, not extremely loud cept when you kick her down. They're pretty quiet inside the cabin of the car. These are some of the best sounding mufflers I have heard on the market lately. WWW.CherryBomb.com
