October 8, 2008What is the name of this part, this tube? And is it easy to fix? It broke last Friday
October 9, 2008Picture is way too small to see what it is. I would go to the ford dealer and just buy a new one, prolly not over $25 *or* so.
October 9, 2008yep to small is it on the intake??
October 9, 2008I could be wrong, but I think it is called a “photistoosmallsm”.
Is it metal, plastic *or* rubber?
Where does it come from and go to?
Animal, vegetable *or* mineral?
Does the Mustang run better with it broken (if so leave it broke) j/k
I bet if you pulled up to a parts store and asked, they would come out and help you identify it. Without a manual, that is what I would do.
October 9, 2008On firefox 3 I was able to zoom in using the Ctrl key and the '' '' key together a bunch of times...
Looks like it goes into the firewall in the middle, and down into the engine (behind the upper intake, possibly into the lower intake). I don''t have a 4.6L Mustang, but on my Expedition, that''s where the heater hoses go into the cabin. They just sort of push onto some plastic clips with a flat plastic washer to seal.
So, if you have water gushing out of this broken hose, I''d say it''s a heater hose.
October 9, 2008It''s the inlet/outlet hose for the heater core.
At least what it looks like
October 9, 2008^^^ We agree... that''s usually called a ''heater hose''.
