March 30, 2010Hi all. I know that i haven`t posted in a while. it`s very busy here. I`m looking for a new head unit for my 06 GT and wanting some opinions. If you have an 06 or newer and have replaced your stock stereo with a newer unit, what did you replace it with , how does it work, and were there any complications? Thanks for the input.

April 21, 2010This site isn`t as busy as it use to be. O`well, still lookin for a new headunit. I see at Crutchfield that they have an adapter kit now so the install on Ford 05 and newer work better. $129.95 for the kit but the reviews say that it`s a must to insure that your radio works properly. Have a great spring everyone. I`m ready for warmer weather.
April 21, 2010Sorry but I`m still rolling a stock head unit. I didn`t reply because you only wanted feedback from those who replaced theirs. I`ve done many audio installs but none in a late model mustang.
April 23, 2010Thanks for the reply anyway Wildazcat. If you check my preveous post from over 3 years ago in the Audio forum, my cd skipped, cutout, turned itself off, ect... It`s been replaced 3 times with a stock HD. Since I only drive my Stang in nice weather(about 7 months here) I forget about it in the winter and then get frustrated with it in the summer. I was just thinkin that maybe this would be the year. I just didn`t want to screw up the sound system. When it DOES work right, I think it sounds pretty good for a stock system. Thanks again for the reply. Sorry for the long post.
April 24, 2010Since you like the sound of the stock system maybe you should consider going to a salvage yard and getting a replacement. Or check this out...
May 4, 2010I`ve had such bad luck with the Ford Stock radio that I`m a little gun shy. Thanks for the suggestion though. I`m looking at a Pioneer FH P8000BT CD Receiver. It gets good reviews. It takes me forever to make a $500 radio decision. Thanks again for the reply.
