Well, we are dry, but not so much for some. Here are some pictures.
This was at the rocky hole @ 4:00 pm.
This was the road I was standing on when I took the first picture. I was standing beside the 2 big trees at the right. This was at 7:30 pm and there was about 4 foot of water running where I was standing.
This was Bobby Buckman`s corn field @ 4:00 pm.
Same spot @ 7:30 pm, notice the gate now almost completely under. It went completely under around 8:15 or so.
Bobby`s field on Hwy 55, between the river and Lovers Lane. This picture was taken about 1/3 mile from the bridge, the water was lapping against the blacktop shoulder. If you look close to the right side of the picture, you will see a field mouse heading for higher ground. I counted about 4-5 running across the road. This picture was taken around 7:45 or so. I decided to get my butt back across the river before we couldn`t get back.
Calvary pump station before dark. My grandfather was called back in from retirement yesterday to help. He said it was the highest he could remember it since the 70`s.
Now, for the last to be appreciated, you have to know how high above the river level it is. I`d say it is a good 40-50` above the water level when it`s running normal, not to mention a good 500` away from the river channel.
